HFRI-I LIQUID ALTERNATIVE UCITS INDICES: MID-SEPTEMBER 2024 PERFORMANCE NOTES

09/18/2024 Performance Notes

Global financial markets exhibited mixed performance through mid-September, reflecting the ongoing volatility from the previous month as interest rates fell in anticipation of the US Federal Reserve’s potential rate cuts. Global equity markets saw slight declines, primarily driven by losses in the Technology and Energy sectors, with China and Japan experiencing the most significant regional declines. Interest rates decreased amid moderating inflation data and expectations of future cuts by the Federal Reserve, while the US Dollar weakened against most other currencies. Commodities also had a varied performance: Platinum and Silver led Metals gains, Natural Gas led Energy gains, and Corn and Wheat led agricultural commodity gains.

The HFRI-I Liquid Alternative UCITS Index gained +0.15% through mid-September.
